We have exchanged the truth about God for a lie,
worshipping created things rather than the creator,
and so have brought upon ourselves the just wrath of God
(Romans 1:18-25).
And yet God’s response is his own great exchange of love divine.
In his great mercy and perfect justice the Father sends his Son as the sinless saviour, exchanges his righteousness for our unrighteousness (Romans 3:21-26).
Confronted by this great exchange everything else starts to drift away.
We may do it imperfectly, yet our desire will increasingly be to praise the one in whose mercy we stand.

"For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God's truth… so that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy,
'Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and sing praises to him, all you peoples.'" (Romans 15:8-11)
