This song continues the theme of the way in which the victory of grace
lifts us up even in the darkest moments of life.
We are called to look back to what Christ has already done in overcoming death, and called to look forward to the promised day when he will call our name at the final resurrection.
That resurrection day is indeed our saviour’s greatest hour
and we share it with him.
When we truly know both the victory
and the hope of consummation to come
then we can sing with confidence,
‘I’ll Rise Up, I’ll Rise again”.
